Newsflash from various news stations across the US:
…..
“Yes we received the newsflash from Brussels, and it is something we regret to hear. However, we cannot say anything at this point as the European’s haven’t made clear what’s next, or what steps they want to take…” The vice president replied in a microphone.
“The law is clear: ITAR controlled goods will be protected by the US law, and we, the government will assure that this will remains at all time. We cannot and will not allow that our technology and knowledge will fall in the wrong hands. And I think the Europeans know this well enough… So the real question is, what’s next?”
A reporter lifted his hand and shouts “Does this mean they will abandon US technology? Sell it to a good price to others?”
“No I don’t believe so. It is yet unclear what they want. It is in my fair believe diplomats at the US embassies across Europe need to focus on this situation. Personally, I hope to meet the European Leaders as soon as possible…”
“what about the projects? Will Europe forsake their duties and contributions?”
“fair question, and at this moment, I cannot give an answer. If so, they will meet consequences of expenses made, as well as exclusion from these projects. But once again, I cannot give a straight answer.”
“This could mean a serious issue for our weapons industry and economy!” A different reporter shouts through the room.
“Let’s not make hastily conclusions, Rome wasn’t built in 1 day either.” The vice president replied. “yes you..” pointing to a different reporter.
“What does this do with our diplomacy in general?”
“it will not be any different at this moment. Just due some decisions made a couple of years ago, doesn’t mean we have to change again. Let’s face it. The US of A was a dominant force for nearly 100 years. Just a minor setback and reorganisation doesn’t mean we are out of the game. Let me make something clear. The USA is still number 1 yesterday, today, and even tomorrow! This administration will keep on making progress as we speak, modernizing and reforming what was good… into better!” he smiled and holding his hands up.
“I hope to meet our European friends shortly, in the meanwhile, prepare your pumpkins and a happy Thanksgiving to you all!” he smirks, waves and clear the podium
